Beginner Level
Together, we will learn the foundational skills needed to crochet over the course of 4 weeks. You will be given a skill to practice each week before the next class. Please feel free to check in with me during the next class if you need help. Check out what you will learn each week: Week 1: Beginner's Basics - Pick up yarn and a hook for the first time. Learn how to hold the yarn and hook, make a slip knot, and make your first single crochet chain. Week 2: Woven Washcloth - Take your single crochet chain from last week and weave your first project, a washcloth. Learn how to make a turning chain, turn your work, and build multiple rows of the single crochet stitch. Week 3: Silly Stitches - Time to check in on your washcloths from last week and make any adjustments that are needed. Learn how to correct your work, use stitch markers while counting your chains, and ask any questions you have about your first washcloth project. Week 4: Finally Finished - Show off those washcloths! You can learn how to finish your work by tying off and weaving in the ends for a complete first project. Are you worried about having questions about how to practice between weeks? Check out the weekly videos posted at the end of each class that go over the skills taught each week.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello all! I have worked as an online high school teacher for ten years, teaching mostly mathematics and physics. I strive to teach every student the meaning behind what they are learning, not just how to solve an equation. Understanding what you are solving for and what your answer means in the context of the problem is vital in creating lifelong learners. I teach many classes about mathematics as well as video games, crocheting, astronomy, and SAT prep. I spend my free time doing one of my many hobbies, including playing video games, crocheting, diamond painting, and snuggling with my cats and dogs.
