Is your student struggling to count coins the traditional way? This hands-on class will use a touch dot method to count coins up to $1.00. This class is perfect for students who struggle with grouping coins to count or need a hands-on approach to counting coins. Students will review US coins and their value, then learn how to count coins using touch dots. This easy method assigns each coin a specific amount of dots used for counting. Students will practice counting a variety of US coins and create their own coin combinations. Students find this method much easier than the traditional grouping of coins and counting. Students must already know how to count by 5's up to 100 for this method.

Supply List
There are 2 worksheets that will need to be printed so we can fill them out in class for practice and for reference later. If possible bring US coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters) for students to make their own problems to count at the end of class if time permits.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
