In this one-time class, students will learn about the life of the Warrior Queen, Nana Yaa Asantewaa of the Asante Kingdom. In the midst of injustice, she was fearless, courageous, and led her kingdom by example to defend their most priced possession, The Golden Stool. She is much loved and a celebrated figure in the history of Ghana. The class will be taught using a combination of storytelling and a slideshow presentation. In the end, students will not only learn about Yaa Asantewaa's life and legacy but will also gain some knowledge about the Asante Kingdom of Ghana. If time permits, we will play a quick game to review all that we learned. See you in class!
