This class is catered to learners curious about going “veg” or just thinking about their food choices. Students will learn how to prepare delicious plant-based meals that are fun to make and are not heavily processed. Some experience in the kitchen is required for safety reasons. Students will be provided with prerecorded instructional videos and recipes to make four different healthy, delicious vegan and vegetarian meals. Students should have experience mixing, chopping, and using kitchen equipment such as a food processor, food slicer, and blender. Students will practice mixing, cutting, sauteeing, and some multitasking. They will also practice cooking on a stovetop and oven. Parental supervision is strongly encouraged. Because this is a self-paced course, there are no live meetings. All lessons are pre-recorded, in my own kitchen. They can pause, rewind, and replay the videos as many times as needed. Students will be provided with a list of ingredients, supplies, recipes, and instructional videos within the classroom. All course materials, including ingredient lists, supplies, recipes, and instructional videos, will be accessible within the classroom. Students will also be encouraged to post pictures or videos to share their culinary creations with the teacher. Learners are also encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and express their preferences for different foods in the classroom. The recipes primarily focus on vegan and plant-based options, but students have the flexibility to adjust them to suit a vegetarian diet if they prefer. The benefit of a self-paced class: *Learners from all time zones may enroll. *Learners will learn at their own pace. They can pause, rewind, and replay the videos as many times as needed. * Flexible for families with a busy schedule or those who have a scheduling conflict. * The teacher is always available to troubleshoot or address any questions/ concerns that learners may have.
Learning Goals
Students will feel more confident in the kitchen as they learn yummy recipes and improve their cooking skills. You'll be able to make delicious meals and treats all by yourself!
