Start your winter season off right with these fabulous hot cocoa bombs! They are perfect for an anytime treat, dessert, or they package beautifully for gift-giving. What are hot chocolate bombs? Hot chocolate bombs — also called hot cocoa bombs — are spheres of tempered chocolate filled with hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, and sometimes sprinkles. When added to hot milk, the chocolate spheres melt, releasing the cocoa mix and creating a tasty cup of hot chocolate. Sounds amazing, right?! In this one-time class, we will learn the steps of cocoa bomb-making together. Class instruction will include: - demonstration of melting and tempering chocolate, or candy melts - demonstration of shaping, filling and assembling bombs - demonstration of decorating and packaging bombs for gift-giving All Students MUST have a 2" or 2.5" silicone sphere mold, kitchen thermometer, and the proper type of chocolate to complete this class. Chocolate bombs filled with hot cocoa mix will stay fresh if stored at room temperature for up to 2 months. They can also be frozen for up to 6 months if stored properly. The recipe with all ingredients needed will be sent out after enrollment. Limited parental supervision is required for this class since we will be using the microwave and handling delicate ingredients.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to temper chocolate and be introduced to the art of candy-making!
