Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner Level
Cake pops make any day special! Learn how to make these delicious and fun treats in this two-day camp!
Students can make any designs they wish on their cake pops, they do not have to be holiday-themed.

On Day One, we will make the cake and frosting and roll them into balls which then have to chill overnight.
Note: Class lasts 1 hour, 15 minutes.
On Day Two, we will prepare the colored coatings, dip, and decorate the cake pops.
Note: Class lasts 45 minutes.

Class times will include the following instruction:
- demonstration and discussion of mixing tools and techniques
- demonstration of mixing cake batter and frosting
- modeling of proper oven usage and safety
- demonstration of rolling balls and proper storage for chilling
- modeling how to properly prepare candy coatings
- modeling and guiding cake pop decorating and storing

Students may need time after class to complete the rolling process on Day One. This class is longer than Day Two and lasts for 1 hour, 15 minutes. Day Two is 45 minutes to complete decorating of chilled cake pops.
Students must have some type of electric mixer for this class. This helps mix the cake batter more thoroughly so that it rises properly.
Also, it is important for learners to have the proper baking pan sizes and ingredients for their recipe to turn out successfully. Please contact me before class if you have any questions or concerns about the materials list.

Limited parental supervision is required for each class since we will be using the oven, electric mixer, microwave, and handling hot pans.
Everything that you will need for this class is included in the materials section below.

I have been baking for over 30 years and specialize in creating delicious pies, breads, and cookies. I have provided professional-grade desserts, pies and cake pops for many birthdays, graduations, baby/wedding showers, and community celebrations.

I am a graduate of the University of California at San Diego with a degree in Political Science. My teaching experience includes homeschooling my own two children for 18 years. I also have been teaching online for the past 5 years.
Fun fact about me: I began baking on my own as a latch-key kid in the 80's. Many of my first attempts were completely inedible!
Now, after many years of experience and perfecting my craft, I'm excited to share my passion for baking with young learners!
