Class Experience

This camp is inspired by the countries that are showcased around Epcot.

There are two different camps.

Camp A starts off on the Left towards Mexico and Camp B starts off at the Right, towards Canada. Both camps end in the USA.

This is the camp that starts towards Canada.

How it Works:

1.In each lesson your student will learn to cook or bake a dish from that country.
2. Your student will learn where the actual country is located and will be able to take a short picture tour around the main icons of each Pavilion.
3. Each lesson has a movie assignment where your student can watch the movie on their own and answer questions. (Please note, this part would require you to have access to the movies on your own).

To the Right:

Lesson 1: Canada: Tourtiere Hand Pies (French Canadian Meat Pies)
Lesson 2: United Kingdom: Fish and Chips (we use club soda in batter)
Lesson 3: France: Ratatouille, Movie: Ratatouille
Lesson 4: Morocco: Kefta Kebabs
Lesson 5: Japan: Teriyaki Chicken
Lesson 6: USA: Beignets

This is still an interactive cooking camp and your student will be able to view my original videos that will demonstrate the recipe for each lesson. I will have one camera that is dedicated just to the work station so your student can see exactly what is taking place.
Students will be encouraged to share pictures of the finished product with me for assessment.

If your student has any allergies, please contact me and I would be happy to provide you with a recipe with substitutions. This also applies to students that wish to enroll in this course but may need vegetarian friendly substitutions. I have personally followed a vegetarian diet for many years and will be happy to make sure your student feels included.
Learning Goals
1. Your student will learn to cook a recipe from scratch.
2. Your student will become more confident in the kitchen and learn new techniques.
3. Cooking/ Baking involves learning and practicing measurement and math.
4. Your student will practice reading and following directions.
5. Your student will practice problem solving and creativity.
6. Your student will learn plating and serving tips.
7. Your student will be exposed to knife skills, flavor profiles and much more.
