Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Intermediate Level
¡Hola!
In this an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL Ongoing class, students will develop conversation skills in Spanish.
This class is geared toward students who already know the basics of the Spanish language and are ready to take their learning to the next level in a conversational format.
Students will gain confidence in speaking and listening in Spanish through fun themes and learning from other students.
Students can join any week. Here are some examples of what the learners should already know before signing up for this class: How to Introduce themselves, ask basic questions, sounds of vowels, alphabet, numbers 1-100, adjectives, existence of genders, articles, feelings, family members, days of the week, months of the year, animals.

This class will focus on Spanish grammar and learn how to put sentences together independently.
Every week, I will cover different topics to have discussions. I will explain some of the material in English. However, most of the class will be in Spanish with some translations to help students don't feel completely lost.

As this is an ongoing course, the content of these classes should be accessible to new learners who join in any given week.
My goal is for your child to have fun while they learn a new language.
I can't wait to see them in my class!

¡Hola! My name is Elizabeth Rendon, but I go by Señorita Rendón. I was born in Mexico and currently live in Arizona. I also lived in Costa Rica and Panama while volunteering as a music teacher to unprivileged communities for three amazing years.

I am an educator with ten years of experience teaching Spanish, Music, and ESL. I hold a bachelor's degree in Music (emphasis on piano and voice) and a Master's degree in Education.
I am also TESOL certified.

I have experience teaching my two passions: Spanish and Music.
I taught Spanish as a second language for two years to elementary and High School students on daily basics. (2016-2018)
Then, I tasted the classroom setting of a Charter School, teaching Band and Piano group lessons for two years (2018-2020)
For the last five years, since I did a lot of traveling between Costa Rica and Panama, I have been teaching online with Magic Ears, VIPKID, and Intervene (TutorGigs K-12 Tutoring services) while teaching piano during the evenings at my Music Studio at home.

My teaching philosophy is learning in a safe, joyful environment.
I am an energetic and passionate teacher that enjoys seeing my students learn, have fun, and grow. My Spanish classes are fully immersive, interactive, and filled with smiles, lots of visual aids, games, music, and props.

I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). These lessons include learning new vocabulary each lesson, short readings through storytelling, games, and repetition.

I love teaching my native language, Spanish, sharing my experiences living in different Spanish-speaking countries (Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama), and sharing the gift of Music with others!

I can't wait to meet you in class!
