Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this upbeat class, students will develop social skills to help build positive relationships, form friendships and learn by listening, talking, and questioning. Good communication skills have a positive impact on confidence and self-esteem. By interacting and playing using speech and language, a child develops social skills and friendships that support their well-being. As children learn and use new vocabulary, they gain confidence in speech and learn to express their feelings which will mean that their needs are met. Students will learn how to follow the "rules of communication” and improve social skills by: * Sharing & turn taking * Listening * Developing empathy * Patience & conflict resolution * Respecting boundaries * Distinguish which behaviors and language are acceptable and unacceptable. * Identify situations that may lead to conflict. * Interpreting and using nonverbal cues, such as eye contact, body language * Improve self-awareness

My name is Teacher Shannon from New York. I am an enthusiastic teacher who provides a warm and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning. I hold a B.S. in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. My experience includes clinical experience in San Francisco, California. I have 15 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings.
This is my first year teaching fun drawing classes for all ages. My classes are a great opportunity for language immersion! Engaging in arts and social interaction can boost confidence and make us feel more engaged and resilient.
Drawing also plays a big role in cognitive development. Drawing helps children to write and think creatively, develop hand-eye coordination, hone analytical skills, and conceptualize ideas. I look forward to helping mold your child into a creative, life-long learner!
