Class Experience

Does writing give your learner a hard time?
Does your learner have trouble with writing complete sentences, punctuation, or word choice?

If so, this is the course for your learner(s)! As a writing teacher with over nine years of experience teaching composition, I know the structural and grammatical errors learners make when writing. Each week, this class focuses on a new aspect of sentence construction that will help your child(ren) improve. Learners will review the building blocks of constructing a good sentence along with grammar rules and apply them to their own writing.

Students that do not exhibit sentence fluency in their writing rely heavily on simple sentences, create run on sentences or sentence fragments. As a result, this can make multi- paragraph responses and essays sound "choppy" and awkward. Students will practice creating sentences that have different lengths, beginnings, structure, and style.

By the end of class, students will gain an appreciation for sentences that flow together smoothly and rhythmically.

I offer a safe learning environment that encourages learners can ask questions and practice in class to strengthen writing skills. This is a great course to take to help learners improve writing skills. Upon completion, learners can enroll in the Constructing Good Paragraphs course to build on what they've learned.

I look forward to having your learner in my class!
