This class will enhance their reading skills and comprehension by helping them dig into multi-syllable words by defining prefixes, suffixes, Latin Roots and Greek forms. Constructing multi-syllable words and their meanings and building sentences to show understanding. Learning word parts, their meanings, in turn, learning their vocabulary, significantly increases their comprehension as they start to move on to complex texts in middle school! If your learner completes a year of this class, they will learn over 1,000 NEW words and their meanings!! Learn how to construct/deconstruct words with prefixes and suffixes so they can understand hundreds of words(vocabulary + morphology), in turn learning 600+ vocabulary words!

Pre-Requisites
Students should be able to read on their own. This class will enhance their reading skills and comprehension by helping them construct/deconstruct/define multi-syllable words.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Nebraska at Omaha
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. Trained in Orton-Gillingham and Speech to Print Linguistic Phonics. For the last 20 years, I have enjoyed teaching children Pre-K to 8th grade in the classroom, at home and as an online tutor.
