Class Experience

In this One Time Class we will practise counting from 0-100.
Learners should be able to count 0-20 in French BEFORE joining this class.
We will have time to repeat the numbers, focus on the numbers the learners are not sure about and to spend some time on the tricky numbers 69-99. Native French-speaking children find these numbers difficult to learn, so we will work steadily so that learners become confident to say the numbers with me and with the visual aids I have in class.
Learners are welcome to take the class more than once to make sure they have mastered the numbers.
We will use some counting videos as well as a PowerPoint, maths equipment and fingers!
This class will focus on
1) learning to say the numbers and
2) learning to link spoken number to the written numerals
3) learning to link the spoken number to the written number word
4) learning to link the spoken number to a quantity shown on the screen (I use Number Rods to show the quantity for numbers 0-21, 30 and 31, 40 and 41, 50and 51, 60 and 61, 70-100).

Depending on class numbers we will also read out numbers, count round the class and may also play Loto/Bingo.
Learning Goals
Students will say all the numbers from 0-100 at least twice during the class.
Students will become more confident to count out loud and to read out numbers.
All students will make progress in counting in French.

Hi and Bonjour from the U.K. Thank you for looking at my profile and considering my classes for your children. I love teaching here on Outschool.

I am Kim Wark. I am English. I was born and brought up in London, but moved to Leeds for university and have lived in Yorkshire ever since.

    1) I offer French classes to students of all ages and levels, from 4 year olds to 18 year olds, from Kindergarten to High School level. Classes may include singing, role play, storytelling and games. I have lived and worked in France and spend most school holidays there. I am looking forward to sharing my love of French with your child. When I am in France I teach classes from local places of interest.

    2) I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to teach French and English at secondary school (ages 11-18) and all subjects at Primary Level (ages 4-11).

I also have further qualifications in Special Educational Needs, including autism.

As part of my degree course I taught English for a year in a French school. I have taught pupils aged 3-18 in schools (state, private and Special Schools), students aged 16+ at Colleges and tutored individual students. Here on Outschool I teach students from around the world.

I home-schooled my younger son, who is autistic and has learning difficulties, for 8 years. I discovered the Montessori method and it worked really well for him. I have used a Montessori approach with pupils, including those with SEND.

    3) My philosophy has always been to help children do their very best. I have been privileged to teach some amazing children who have made progress beyond what was predicted for them. I was thrilled to celebrate their success with them.

    4) When I was about 5 years old my mum took me to a Horse Show because our late queen, Elizabeth II, was attending. Apparently, I piped up in the loud, clear voice of a 5-year-old, 'Mummy, where is the Queen?' She was standing right in front of me, but I didn't recognise her because she wasn't wearing her crown!!! So embarrassing!!!
