They will get a vocabulary list that goes over everything they have studiedAssessment
I do not routinely give an assessment at the end of the class. However, if a student or parent would like an assessment, they may request one by emailing me.Class Experience
With a little bit of experimenting, I have combined two learning methods into one, both to help the learner succeed and master the Japanese language and understand the Japanese culture. This class is designed to help the student become fluent in Japanese and to understand the culture behind not only the language but also the people. I will first put the student into a situation and then give them sentences to respond to those situations. The sentences will then be broken down into vocabulary and grammar. Each lesson will focus on one or two grammar points with more situations as examples. In this lesson, they will also learn the first five letters of the Japanese alphabet. In this lesson, students will be able to Week 1: 1. Review asking time (What time is it) 2. Review responding to time (It is 6:30) 3. Learn how to ask from what time till what time. (from 4:30 to 6:30) 4. Learn the next five words (ガ、ギ、グ、ゲ、ゴ) Week 2: 1. Learn how to say days of the week 2. Learn how to ask when something is 3. Learn (サ、シ、ス、セ、ソ) Week 3: 1. Learn how to talk about days (today is Saturday, Sunday) 2. Learn how to ask what time of day it is. 3. Learn how to say today, tomorrow and yesterday 4. Learn how to read ザ、ジ、ズ、ゼ、ゾ. Week 4: 1. Learn how to sing "Happy Birthday". 2. Learn how to ask what day and month something is (What month is your birthday? What day is your birthday?) 3. Learn how to count days and respond 4. Learn the katakana letters タ、チ、ツ、テ、ト Week 5: 1. Learn about the polite form of verbs and use it to make sentences (I listen to R&B). -What particle to put to show the direct object 2. Learn different verbs. (Ex. To send, To drink, To wait, To Make, To turn on 3. Learn the Katakana Alphabet ダ、デ、ド You will get all three in one-course culture, language and the writing, probably something other classes do not delve into.
