Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
In this course, students will learn:
• How to make different styles of bracelets, necklaces, and earrings
• How to use professional jewelry pliers and cutters
• How to work with beading wire, chain, jump rings, and other jewelry findings
• How to incorporate concepts of measurement in all jewelry making
• How to consider different types of patterns, color combinations, and styles
• How to have fun with jewelry making!
I have over 17 years of experience in jewelry creation, including designing and successfully selling my work through artisan festivals and e-commerce for over a decade. My experience includes stringing, wirework, chain work, and beadweaving, and I've created thousands of jewelry pieces and accessories over the years using an expansive variety of beads.

As an educator, I have been teaching students from elementary to high school in the world of jewelry making for over 7 years through homeschool classes, birthday parties, private instruction, and after-school enrichment courses across 8 elementary schools. I've been a part of the Outschool community since December 2020 and have loved every minute of sharing the joy of jewelry making with students around the world.
Students will be given a jewelry making challenge at the end of class to be completed before the next meeting. Students will be encouraged to share their "Homework Pieces" with their fellow jewelers at the beginning of the next class.
