•	Develop, research, organize, and deliver formal public speeches including an informational and a persuasive speech
•	Recognize how to communicate within diverse environments

My degrees are a BS in Psychology, an MS in Mental Health Counseling and all but dissertation for a PHD in Psychology. I was a counselor for 10 years and have taught psychology courses and courses in communications & public speaking for the past 20 years. I have a passion working with teenagers both in the counseling setting and as a teacher sharing my knowledge of a variety of different psychology courses. In public speaking and communications I have focused on increasing confidence, public speaking skills and conflict resolution among many other areas that help to increase a teen's comfort level in public speaking and giving presentations.  I am currently a Director of Education and Compliance for an educational facility. 

Homework Offered
Speech activities will be worked on outside of class - 1 hour per week out of class should be sufficient for activities
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Letter grade will be issued as well as a certificate of completion. Assessment will be based on weekly activities, a persuasive speech activity and giving an informative speech in the class.
