Class Experience
Hey Hey, to all my movers and shakers. Welcome to Commercial Dance Hip Hop class.I thrive on having fun and creating an environment that welcomes all dance levels to learn fundamentals and trendy dance choreography. I can't stress enough how dance is a healing art form. I guarantee that taking this 55 minute class with me, you will escape to a world full of dance, while learning basic knowledge of rhythmic movement. Here is a general breakdown of what you can expect: - Opening: Everyone...
While taking this class I want students to gain a better understanding of trusting yourself when identifying musicality and how it will allow your movement to be fluent once you hear it. Then all you would need to do next is perform and apply it. Once they have become aware of musicality, I then will want them to apply their confidence and implement it with the choreography. Remember details are just as important in any routine. So I will be looking for you to focus on being clean, since we have then figured out our rhythm and flow of the routine. This is a judgment free zone class. I want the learners to have a place where they can creatively express themselves but also be okay with acknowledging there mistakes and trusting there recovery process, while applying the key lessons that are being taught, so the learners can have improvement within their Artistry.
With teaching anyone, Mental health and wellness is one of those things that will show through dance. We are afraid of what people think of us and worry about messing up, if we look cool or not, and the list goes on. It take courage to get up and dance like no ones watching. I get it because I was once that kid. I was afraid of being my authentic self and not embracing my love for dance but the confidence that goes with it as well. That's why I want to supply a class where learners can be around other learners who have one thing in common, There love for dance. So I take pride in using dance as a way to creatively express yourself and spreading the love and joy through dance as well as music.
Occasionally I will have the students watch a clip of a specific free style dance to draw inspiration from. These would be great outlets for learners to pick up some tips from the Professionals themselves. Of course these would be age appropriate and parents will be well informed in advance.
A couple things that I would want my Learners to have are - A Notebook/Pen ( at least near by for quick notes and feedback). - Appropriate Dance Attire (Athletic pants, sweat pants, shorts, tops, shoes, etc) - Towel - Water - Appropriate Dance Space - Appropriate Dance Attire. Please feel free to show off your swag or personality through your clothing. Make sure it is APPROPRIATE. - Athletic Shorts, Pants, Leggings - T-Shirts, Graphic Tees, Athletic Shirts, Long sleeves - Shoes - NO SANDELS OR OPEN TOE SHOES - I would suggest having comfortable shoes, that your learner feels comfortable enough to dance in and wouldn't put them at risk of any falls or injuries. - Accessories - Hats, Beanies, Headbands
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
