What's included
4 live meetings
2 hrs 40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This ongoing class/club will meet 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) for 8 weeks, and feature a different U.S. president each week. Students will learn facts and stories about their lives and events that defined their presidency while coloring pictures related to the lesson. Classes will feature an upbeat presentation with music from the time period, videos, and even some virtual tours as part of the presentation. This class is designed to give young students an introduction into U.S. history and hopefully spark an interest in the subject as well. As is the case with all of my classes, objectivity is at the forefront of all of my lesson planning and politics will never be introduced. Multiple viewpoints on events will be presented and a time for classroom discussion will also be part of every lesson for students to ask questions and talk about what they have learned. The perspective of citizens of various races and cultures will be part of the lesson planning process. It is my goal that students will leave class excited to tell others what they have learned and eager to learn more. Each lesson will cover a different president (with the exception of two classes that will cover two) as well as events that were occurring at the time of term. My classes at this age/grade level are very interactive and students are encouraged to share what they color as well as their thoughts about each event and president. A game will also accompany each lesson to gauge lesson retention. Each lesson will stand alone and students are welcome to join at any point.Friday 10:00 section (June 07, 2021) George Washington (June 08, 2021) John Adams (June 09, 2021) Thomas Jefferson (June 10,2021) James Madison (June 14,2021) James Monroe (June 15, 2021) John Quincy Adams (June 16, 2021) Andrew Jackson

Parental Guidance
Parents should be advised that certain classes will contain information on sensitive subjects such as war, the mistreatment of Native Americans, the experiences of minorities and slavery. It is my top priority to teach each lesson at an age appropriate level. While I will not discuss graphic details of such events, they will be taught in a straightforward and factual way.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Liberty University
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a declared minor in Psychology. In addition to my degree, which covers all academic subjects taught at the Elementary level, I have also completed multiple courses on American history and Western Civilization. Additionally, my studies included courses on developmental psychology. As a teacher, I have taught over 200 online classes, including a variety of history courses, which have covered social injustices and war. Not every lesson will involve issues such as these, however my focus on psychology and experience teaching such subjects plays an essential role in how this information is presented to ensure accuracy and age appropriateness. This class is a condensed form of another class that I have taught on Outschool for several months.
