Hello! I'm so excited to offer this ongoing club on Outschool! Do you have a child who LOVES coloring or drawing and is looking to make some new friends? Bring your markers, crayons, coloring books, or plain paper to draw. Coloring and drawing promote creativity, encourage focus and relaxation, as well as improve fine motor skills! During class, the learners will be encouraged to engage in conversation with each other. I will start class with an ice breaker or conversation starter to help get them comfortable and talking. Throughout the class, I will monitor and help guide the conversations. They will have a chance to share their likes, dislikes, jokes, drawings, coloring, and most of all have FUN! There is no set lesson plan for this class. Discussion topics for this class will be learner directed. The goal is to give the learners an opportunity to discuss the topics that most interest them. Class Framework: Introductions Ice breaker/conversation starter Coloring and learner-directed conversation My goal with this class is to create a positive, safe, social group where kids feel comfortable being themselves and making meaningful connections with their peers. During class conversations, I will promote kindness and acceptance. No worries if your learner is shy! Each learner is welcome to share and talk when they feel comfortable. In my years as an educator I have run many social clubs and they are always so much fun! I am so excited to bring that fun and encouraging atmosphere to your learner! This is an ongoing class and learners are able to join and leave at any time. However, for the class to be most beneficial, coming to class consistently will help your learner build friendships and be more comfortable sharing in class. Materials Needed: -markers, crayons, or colored pencils -coloring book/sheet or plain paper for drawing See you in class!
Learning Goals
Students will color and draw with their peers as they build friendships in this ongoing class.
