Lesson 3
Warm and Cool Colors
Exploring warm and cool colors. The emotional impact of color temperature in art.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Complementary Colors and Contrast
Understanding complementary colors and their role in creating contrast.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Analogous Colors and Harmony
Exploring analogous colors and how they create harmony.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Color in Nature and Art
Drawing inspiration from colors found in nature.

Basic Art Supplies:

Sketchbook or Drawing Paper, Watercolor paper if you have some!: 8.5x11 inches or larger.

Pencils and Eraser: For sketching and outlining.

Colored Pencils or Crayons: A set that includes a range of primary and secondary colors.

Watercolor Paints: A basic set of watercolor paints.

Paintbrushes: Various sizes, including small, medium, and large brushes.

Palette: For mixing colors (a simple plastic or ceramic plate will work).

Plastic Cups with water : For rinsing brushes.

Paper Towels or Cloth: For drying brushes.

Additional Supplies:

Transparent Colored Cellophane Sheets: Red, blue, and yellow (for light mixing experiments). (*optional. Instructor will have one for visual!)

Glue Stick: For assembling the color wheel and other projects.

Scissors: For cutting paper and cellophane sheets.

Small Ruler: For drawing and measuring.

Natural Materials (Optional): Leaves, flowers, or other natural items for Week 6’s nature-inspired art.

These supplies will ensure that students are fully equipped to participate in all the hands-on activities and explore the wonderful world of color theory through art!
