Class Experience

Students will spend the class learning about Colonial America by studying one of the most important documents of this era, the Mayflower Compact.
    
The class will not run if it does not meet its minimum of two students.

During the class students will learn the difference between primary and secondary sources. We will talk about the history of the Mayflower Compact and evaluate it through discussion. Finally, students will use class time to research the colonies to compare and contrast the Thirteen Colonies, which they will have a chance to share with the class.

Students knowledge will be evaluated through discussion and presentation of their research.

This class only meets once for 55 minutes, thus, no homework will be assigned. 

Students should print out a copies of the Mayflower Compact and Thirteen Colonies worksheet as well as the Primary Source graphic organizer prior to class.
Learning Goals
Students will gain an understanding of the importance of the Mayflower Compact to the government of Plymouth Colony, as well as its influence on American government.
