Lesson is aimed for students with experience using Scratch Jr. Class is fast paced. Students will work on programming, problem solving and critical thinking skills using Scratch Jr app. In this one time class, students will listen to: The Princess Series: Cinderella By: Flowerpot Press and create a short retell with teacher's help and support. Teacher will model and provide step by step instructions, but students are free to modify and make this project their own if ready. Students will work on the following skills: - create/modify characters - create/modify backgrounds - code one or more characters - use the message command - use the hide command - add speech bubble Students will need to download the app: Scratch Jr. before class. App available on iPad or Chromebook. Recommend you join class using a different device so student can see my screen while I model.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
