Coding & Programming - Swift Playground
Learn the fundamentals of script coding and programming in this ongoing class. We explore how coding is used to program games as we problem solve, follow instructions and think critically to solve coding challenges. This class is suitable for beginners.

This lesson requires access to Swift Playground. This is an Apple computer software that is free and downloadable in the App Store. During these lessons students will learn what different types of commands are and how we sequences them to make code. This coding is then used to program a character to move about and complete the challenge. Each week we will focus on one new skill. These skills include sequencing, functions, loops, variables and conditions. Lessons Structure: - Explicitly teach a new skill - Model how to use this skill - Students practice using this skill in their challenges Lesson 1 (Week starting 18th April): Sequencing Lesson 2 (Week starting 25th April): Functions Lesson 3 (Week starting 2nd May): Loops Lesson 4 (Week starting 9th May): Conditional Code Lesson 5 (Week starting 16th May): Logical Operations This lesson is beginner friendly and suited for students who want to understand why we code and how it can be used in the future. Each week there will be a new coding skill set taught.

This class requires access to a coding application, downloadable via the App Store. There is no student information required, in addition to no log in details needed.
