Beginner Level
Welcome to the Coding Level 1 Course! In this class, I aim to unlock your child's potential in the digital world of coding. The level 1 course, specifically designed for beginners, introduces young learners to the fundamentals of coding in a fun and interactive way. Through a series of captivating lessons, your child will not only learn to code but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and unleash their creativity. What Will Be Taught? -Fundamental Coding Concepts: Students will grasp the basics of programming, including sequences, loops, conditions, variables, and events. -Creative Expression Through Code: They'll learn how to bring their ideas to life by creating animations, stories, and simple games. -Problem-Solving Skills: The course encourages logical thinking and troubleshooting, essential skills in coding and everyday life. -Introduction to Computational Thinking: Understanding how to approach problems methodically and create efficient solutions. How Will We Teach? -Interactive Video Content: Lessons are dynamic and visually stimulating, combining lectures with live demonstrations. -Step-by-Step Guidance: Concepts are broken down into easy-to-follow steps, making complex ideas accessible. - Real-World Examples: Relating coding concepts to everyday technology to spark interest and understanding. - Encouraging Exploration: Promoting a learning environment where experimentation is welcomed. Why Choose Our Level 1 Coding Course? -Expert Instruction: Lessons crafted by an experienced educator passionate about teaching coding to young learners. -Trusted Platform: Utilizing Scratch, developed by MIT, known for its effectiveness in teaching coding to young learners. -Flexible Learning: Access the course anytime, anywhere, fitting into your family's schedule. -Skill Development: Beyond coding, students enhance their creativity, logical reasoning, and confidence. Give Your Child a Head Start in the Digital Age! Enroll your child in my Level 1 Coding adventure with Scratch and watch them transform from technology consumers to creators. Empower them with skills that are not only essential for future careers but also invaluable for personal growth and expression. Feel free to message me if you have any further questions!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to use sequences, loops (such as "repeat" and "forever"), conditional statements ("if" and "if-else"), events, and variables within the Scratch environment to create functional and interactive programs.
Students will apply their coding knowledge to develop interactive stories, animations, and basic games, demonstrating creativity and an understanding of programming principles by bringing their own ideas to life

I have been coding as a hobby for a significant period of time where I have accumulated a whole range of experiences through learning different languages in coding. Since a lot of my coding experience comes from being self-taught, it has allowed me to learn a lot from my mistakes and how to avoid those mistakes first hand. Furthermore, with being self-taught, it has also meant that my teaching is derived from project-based learning, meaning that if I want to build a game, I would learn the language as well as build my game along the well. I believe this is an effective way to learn and it is what worked best for me.
