Class Experience

Expand your child’s coding skills with this hands-on STEM class! Before joining, your child should complete my Coding Fun With a Botley Robot. Mission 1: Let’s get Moving to understand how Botley the robot moves.

This flexible, one-time class fits into your schedule—pick the sessions that work best for your family!

In this lesson, your child will take charge, figuring out the code to program Botley to create different shapes. Through interactive challenges, they’ll strengthen their understanding of geometry, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving—all while having fun with coding!

To enhance participation, we recommend printing the attached PDFs so your child can draw the challenges they aren’t actively coding. No Botley accessory pack is required, but if using one, set up the tiles in a 2x3 grid before class.

I’m happy to adjust timing to suit your family’s needs—just let me know!
This class requires at least 2 children to run or it will be cancelled.

Learning Goals

By the end of the session, your child will be able to understand that an algorithm is a set of instructions, program a toy by inputting a sequence of commands/codes, and predict how different sequences lead to different outcomes.
