Class Experience

In this one time class, students will have fun while practicing reading comprehension strategies using the book "Click, Clack, Moo, Cows That Type" by Doreen Cronin. I will read aloud the story. Students are welcome to bring their own copy of the book to class and read along with me if they have it.

We will make predictions throughout the book, identify the main characters, and identify problems and solutions in the story. We will then practice identifying more problem and solutions and will relate this concept to our own lives. Finally, students will have fun creating their own story with a problem and a solution.

The reading on the class slides as well as the comprehension strategies are geared towards First Graders; however, students in other grades are welcome! Students should be able to read and write simple sentences. We will be focusing more on reading comprehension and writing than on the mechanics of reading.
