US Grade Preschool - 1
In this weekly Story class, we will read a different classic fairytale and then draw picture from the story. The teacher tells stories by heart, using eye contact and communicating heart to heart with each student. We may also use some fun props like puppets! After our story, we will talk about what happened in the story and what it can teach us. This can help us reinforce the lessons we learned from our story. It also allows some speaking practice in class. We will practice our art and social skills by talking while we draw a picture about the story. We will talk about what we liked about the story. We will learn that every human has their own opinion and every opinion is valid! After we finish our pictures, we will share our artwork and talk about what we have drawn. Finally, We will end the class with positivity and well wishes! We maintain small classes so the teacher may connect with each student personally and each child will have the time to share and connect with their peers. I have always loved classic fairytales and I am beyond excited to share them with the next generation of learners! Storytelling is a vital element to a young child's learning and I hope I will get the opportunity to tell your child a story soon! Note: In this ongoing class, content is not built upon previous lessons. No prior knowledge is needed. You may subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.

I have always loved classic fairytales. So much so, that in middle school, I was made fun of for carrying around "The Complete Collection of Grimm Fairytales" in hardback. I may not have been cool, but I was smart! I have read every classic fairytale I can find including the complete collections by Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault.
I am also a trained actor and performer. I have told expressive and memorable stories to thousands of children over the year, both onstage and in a classic circle time manner. Storytelling is in my soul!
I am an experienced teacher with 5 and 1/2 years of teaching experience both online and in person. I have taught English online for the past two and a half years. I often taught specialty storytime classes where I would tell the child a classic fairytale and we would discuss it and the child would learn to retell that story.
I am new to Waldorf but I am also a life-long learner who is eager to learn. I am currently studying the Waldorf teaching method by reading books, articles, and blogs. I am currently reading "Fairy Tales: In the Light of Spiritual Investigation" by Rudolf Steiner, the founder of the Waldorf education. I am also on the lookout for more hidden fairytales that expand beyond the European and American viewpoints.
