Class Experience

For over 30 years I have been teaching and sharing the role playing game learning experience. I teach kids and adults ages 10+ how to get the most out of the game and how it all works to achieve a group interactive learning experience. Specifically I teach Dungeons and Dragons. I have been playing since 1988 and have a extensive knowledge of not only the game but how to get the most out of it as a group learning experience. Here's a short list of the many lessons the teens will experience:
1. Collaboration and teamwork: players in the games work together to reach a goal.
2. Preparedness, innovation, and problem solving: solve problems through negotiation, tools and exploring creativity
3. Character building: learning to take risks to get awards and confronting problems all in a safe environment
4. Empathy and Tolerance: experience scenarios from a point of view beyond your own
5. Imagination: the game engages the imagination and activates the "wondering mind"
Students will learn all this and more in a safe and forgiving environment.
This is BASIC Dungeons and Dragons, not 5th Edition. Its just like 5th edition but much more streamlined for ease of play and fun factor. Players will pick from pregenerated characters to speed things up and save time. They will need a webcam or phone and microphone. Class time is structured so we will have as much adventure and learning as possible! Topics included in the course are detailed in the course video and in the information below.
Learning Goals
I am a excellent teacher for this subject because of what I include in my games: a learning experience that contributes to coping with real life situations. Besides what listed above the teens will learn social skills as well as how to cope with failure in a positive, safe way.
