In this one time class, students will learn how to use the built in citation and works cited tools in Google Docs to cite their sources in MLA format.

During this class I will teach students how to create MLA citations using the built in citation tools in Google Doc's. Skills include: Understanding MLA citation requirements, knowing when to cite, understanding what in-text citations are, understanding what a works cited page is, creating & modifying citations and a works cited page using Google Docs. Students will need a Google Drive account. I will start with an onscreen presentation then navigate to Google Doc's to do a demonstration, then I will ask students to cite 2 sources and create a works cited page on their own.

Students will need a Google Drive account. Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. A Google Drive account comes with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools, in addition to other Google applications such as Forms, Sites, and Maps.
