Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
This three part course is for students who've never been in a class setting. Students will learn the importance of daily routines, rules, and interacting with other students. Each month, there will be a theme that will go along with each lesson. For example, our very first lesson is called "Welcome to School" which is about the importance of school and how school works. The students will participate in activities that goes along with the theme. Some topics that we may cover are letter recognition, numbers, sight words, community helpers, the solar system, and more. I will teach by using google, slides, music, dancing, discussions, any video by Jack Hartman and many more. Every Sunday I will upload worksheets and activities that the students can complete before or during class. Mid way through the course, I will issue progress reports/feedbacks to see how well each students are doing. Worksheets are not mandatory but it could help. If you don't have access to a printer, no worries your child can use a dry erase board or a blank sheet of paper. Crayons and/or markers are needed for arts and craft activities. Also students will present projects and I will let you know what supplies are needed. If there is time, I may set aside some time for the students to attend "virtual field trips". I will keep you all posted. Students will take a pre and post assessments during this course. At the end of the course, each student will receive a certificate of completion. I will add courses every two-three weeks. I can't wait to meet you all.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome parents and children! my name is Ms. Smith. I currently live in Atlanta, GA. I have over 5 years of teaching toddlers, preschool, and prek. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences with a minor in Human Services from Allen University. I'm a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. I started out as a Teacher's Assistant at a local daycare in Fayetteville, NC before relocating to GA. After working with toddlers, I became a PreK Teacher's Assistant at a HeadStart program. After the lead teacher left, I became lead teacher until we found a permanent teacher. After relocating to GA, I've decided that I wanted to open up my own academy for PreK and kindergarten. In order for me to do that, I wanted to gain the experience to teach on my own time. I love teaching pre because its such an fun age and I enjoy seeing the smiles on kids' faces when they've accomplished something new. Also later down the line, I will host Teen Summits and Story Time. Be on the look out for more classes. I'm looking forward to meeting you all.
