We will discuss the actors and directors who made these movies, and see how the special effects were accomplished. We will view a scene and discuss it, and also discus what the students enjoyed about the movie we discuss. I will use Powerpoint and .discussion. Time permitting, we will also be playing a group trivia game on Kahoot. Students will need free access to www.Kahoot.it for the game, however if they do not have access, we will screen-share and play that way. I am easy-going and patient. This should be fun. learners will interact a lot through discussion. Other Details
Parental Guidance
The movies are all PG, But I do suggest that parents look into the movies and decide if they are appropriate. Also, the movies are not religious, however, they do deal with Christmas themes like Santa.
Supply List
Students should view the movies listed before class if possible, although it is not mandatory.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach Reading, Grammar, History and have: taught full-time, and worked as a substitute teaching many different subjects in classes from Kinder to 12th grade. My majors in college ranged from Child Development, to Theater Arts, to English, and an additional History minor. In addition to teaching I am a published author. My philosophy of teaching is that we are all life-long learners and we never stop learning. To that end, every lesson should fun and enjoyable, while teaching, and/or learning, something new. The students should have fun while they learn, as that's the way we learn the most.
