We will be learning how Christmas is celebrated in other countries. We will look at their traditions and what they eat and what makes each country special and unique. The material will be taught in a historical and secular manner. Week 1. Germany: we will look at the amazing markets and how the culture has impacted our world and how we celebrate Week 2. England: how Scrooge played an important part in the traditions of Christmas and how Queen Victoria changed Christmas celebrations in England Week 3. Austria and Belgium: how these two amazing countries celebrate Christmas. We will also look at the wonderful scenic countryside. Week 4. France: from the pastries to the markets, we will explore the French traditions around Christmas This globe-trotting class will allow students to see European culture, experience new traditions, and have a knowledge of how many of our traditions came about.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Since December 2018, I have been teaching on Outschool. I have a love of European history and Christmas which are both combined into this course. Being from England, living in another country and having taken many university-level courses in history, cultures, communication, and racism, my educational background and experience allow me to teach history from a unique perspective. Creating a space for students to love learning and history is what I strive to do and have taught over 1,500 students so far on Outschool. I've taught history for over 5 years.
