Chinese Cooking Class - Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs 糖醋小排
Class experience
In this class, we will be focusing on making the famous Shanghai dish, Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs. The topics that we will cover include how to marinate the ribs, the different cooking techniques involved, and how to make sweet and sour sauce. The class will be structured in a step-by-step format, where the students will follow along with me as I demonstrate each step of the cooking process. My teaching style is very hands-on, where I encourage students to ask questions and offer feedback....
1 pound spare ribs, cut into 1 to 1.5 inch sections 2 tablespoons cooking oil 1/3 sugar ( brown or white ) 1/4 cup dark soy sauce 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or Rice wine ( optional ) 1/4 black vinegar 5 ginger slices 4 green onion white parts hot water as needed 1/2 tablespoon white sesame seed for garnishing ( optional ) Spring onion for garnishing
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
In this class, we will use a knife. cutting board, and stove while cooking with parental guidance. The ingredients include short ribs, Chinese cooking wine, light and dark sauce, and sugar. For learners with food allergies and food sensitivities, please read the ingredient carefully.
