Younger students will learn all about chimpanzees through interactive and creative learning methods. Students will learn about chimpanzees, their habitat, eating habits and family life. A focus will be on conservation including a personal discussion of my experience with circus chimpanzees. Students will be delve into video, handouts, creative options and multimedia presentations that are all guided by the teacher. At the end of the class students will learn how to draw a chimpanzee in the jungle!
Learning Goals
Students will learn all about chimpanzees including the anatomy, feeding, behavior, habitat and chimp family life both in the wild and also in refuges and zoos. Conservation is stressed throughout the course.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
There are photos of Chimpanzees for sale in markets, those abused and neglected as well as those used as bush meat. These images may be disturbing to younger audiences, but illustrate the plight that these great apes face.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
