Description

Class Experience

Younger students will learn all about chimpanzees through interactive and creative learning methods. Students will learn about chimpanzees, their habitat, eating habits and family life. A focus will be on conservation including a personal discussion of my experience with circus chimpanzees. 

Students will be delve into video, handouts, creative options and multimedia presentations that are all guided by the teacher.

Students will learn all about chimpanzees including the anatomy, feeding, behavior, habitat and chimp family life both in the wild and also in refuges and zoos. Conservation is stressed throughout the course.

I've worked with animals all of my life and currently house over 32 animals on my property. I will share my personal experiences with Circus Chimpanzees.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

There are photos of Chimpanzees for sale in markets, those abused and neglected as well as those used as bush meat. These images may be disturbing to younger audiences, but illustrate the plight that these great apes face.
