In this ongoing chess club, learners will practice strategic thinking, problem solving, and social conversation skills while playing one of the world's greatest games.

Beginner - Intermediate Level
♟️ This is an ongoing class for Elementary School aged learners to practice playing chess in a friendly and mildly competitive environment. All skill levels are welcome! Students will increase their skill in chess and, through playing, improve their strategic thinking. They will learn to both win and lose politely and with dignity.
I have been teaching students how to play chess and managing a middle school chess club for over a decades, with a special focus on exceptional learners (gifted learners, students on the autism spectrum, LQBTQ+ inclusion groups).

Students have the option of playing chess using Chess.com. If you want your child to do this, you must create an account for them and register it in my private chess club. All chat options outside of the Outschool Zoom call are blocked in my club and I provide instructions for how to block all communication features site-wide in the classroom welcome message.
