Beginner Level
Learner picks ANY chemistry topic he or she is wrestling with. I fix the tangling so that the topic is crystal clear. One topic per 60 minute session. Plain and Simple. For example: electron configuration of the elements, balancing equations, unit conversion, the metric system, ideal gas law, etc.
Learning Goals
Learner can master just about any Chemistry module topic in 1 or 2 60 minute sessions. I am strong advocate of tactile learning approaches.
Other Details
Learning Needs
I use tactile reinforcement when possible combined with lined pads, #4 pencils, hand calculator and periodic table. Textbooks allowed, but not particularly useful for tutoring.
Pre-Requisites
None. but you need to be able to handle high school level math.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

After retiring early from Bell Labs I pursued my interest in becoming an elementary school teacher in NJ focusing on science and math for grades K - 6. I have teaching certifications in both NJ and VA. Now retired yet again I look forward to using hands on learning with "stuff" I have accumulated over the decades to engage and entertain.
