This 6-week Chemistry speedy course is carefully crafted to cover selected topics in High School Chemistry Curriculum. In my classes, I tailor my teaching approach to match each student's unique pace. With small class sizes, I'm able to provide individualized attention, creating an almost personalized learning experience for every student. It's like having a private tutor guiding your child every step of the way. We will start by introducing atom structure, elements, compounds, ions, isotopes, valence electrons, naming compounds, and types of bonds. We will have a brief look at the types of reactions, the law of conservation of mass, and rules for balancing chemical reactions. Next, we will practice predicting the products of chemical reactions. In the second part of the course, I will teach moles/mass/molecular mass/Avogadro number concepts, calculating ratio and molar/mass relation in chemical reactions. Students will be provided with practice questions and homework activities to facilitate the learning process. I will teach using a whiteboard, some short YouTube videos, and worksheets. Frontal teaching will be followed by practice periods (worksheets are uploaded for each session). Students are encouraged to share their answers and participate in class discussions. The detailed curriculum: Week 1- periodic table, atomic number, atomic mass Week 2 - electrons arrangement, valence electrons Week 3- ionic compounds, naming Week 4- molecular compounds, naming Week 5- chemical reactions, balancing, synthesis/decomposition, product prediction Week 6 - single/double displacement, neutralization reactions Evaluation and Grades (optional): Upon successful completion of all required weekly homework assignments and passing the final assessment, students will receive a certificate of completion. If requested, this certificate will include a letter grade reflecting your performance. I am looking forward to teaching your learner!
