In this timeless classic, Willy Wonka, the eccentric chocolatier, gives five children the chance to visit his candy factory. Charlie is one of the lucky children to find the golden ticket ensuring his entry into the factory. The adventure begins as the children see the chocolate waterfall, discover never-ending gobstoppers and endless sweet inventions, and meet the Oompa-Loompas. This course is appropriate for students who have already read and enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate factory or students who are picking it up for the first time. Lesson 3 - Consequences We will look at the 'good' and 'bad' behaviors of the characters and the consequences. Homework will involve brainstorming good and poor reactions to "sticky situations". Lesson 4 - Opinions We will look at the advantages and disadvantages of the Oompa-Loompas' suggestion to ban television. Homework will involve writing a persuasive essay or preparing for a debate.
