In this one time class, students will learn to paint a tree using watercolor paints.
Class experience
In this one-time class, we will learn to use watercolor paints to create an autumn tree. This class is good for beginners as well as students with some familiarity with watercolor. We will start with a brief slideshow about color mixing, water-to-paint ratios, and mark making with brushes. This class will meet for 35 minutes. The bulk of the class will be painting and problem solving while we create. My goal is for your student to leave the class with new skills they can use again and again....
These are the materials for our class together. I’ve listed some brands because I don’t want anyone to feel lost or overwhelmed trying to buy art supplies. I will try to list an inexpensive option as well as a mid-level option for some of these materials but remember they are just suggestions. I am very supportive of using what you have on hand or upcycling materials for our class. :) 1.Watercolor paper - (brand really does not matter) 2.Watercolor paint - (Crayola, Windsor and Newton travel paint, or your choice) 3.Cup of water 4. Watercolor brush- (any brand, rounded brush tip) 5.Old washcloth or paper towels 6.Pencil and eraser 7.OPTIONAL: Fine liner (Sharpie extra-fine, Micron, or your choice)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
