You can send me a picture of your unique monogram (optional) and I will give you feedback on your monogram. I can't wait to see what you have created!Class Experience
Class Experience In this self-paced class learners will have a pre-recorded video where they can follow along to understand how to create a monogram at their own pace. The monogram, the learners will be creating, will be the first letter of their first name or first letter of their last name depending on which letter they want to use for their monogram. I will guide learners through the steps to create a monogram, however, learners will be using their letter of choice. I will include a PDF with each letter of the alphabet that may be printed off and used if the learner doesn’t want to draw the letter without a template guide. Making the letter unique to the learner is highly encouraged by drawing the letter by hand. I encourage them to add and draw what they like, their hobbies, and show their personality through their art to make their monogram unique to them. Monograms have been used throughout history. A monogram may consist of one, two, or three letters, however, only one letter will be used to make their monogram in this self-paced class. I can’t think of a better way to encourage learners to celebrate their name, and to show their personality by adding what they like in their life that shows what is special to them on their monogram. At the beginning of the video I will briefly discuss the history of monograms for approximately 2 minutes and then I will briefly go over the supplies needed. Now, to express our creativity, we will learn a few skills and begin working on a monogram for the rest of the video. I will create one monogram in the video step-by-step to help them develop skills that they may use on their own monogram. I discuss different ideas to create their monograms. The monogram I create on the video will be the letter H with stripes and a green dinosaur. I will use color pencils to color the monogram. This self-paced class will have a pre-recorded 31 minute video. A PDF will be included with 26 letters in the English alphabet, with one letter on each page (each letter is approximately 3” W x 4” H). Learners will be encouraged to create a monogram that is unique to them. Depending on how quickly a learner works on their monogram they may have to finish their monogram after the video has ended. Teacher hours: MDT Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please contact me with any questions or help with any of my classes. I respond within 24 hours and usually sooner to any questions.
Learning Goals
I teach a few drawing and color pencil skills. I encourage them to tell a story on paper through their creativity in art as to what makes them unique by adding a hobby, something they like and anything else they want to add to their monograms.
