Class Experience
Students will meet together live with teacher and other students. Students will follow along on a slide show presentation as the teacher reads aloud about the changes a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly. The teacher will lead the students step by step through a fine motor skills craft. Students will follow along creating their own butterfly craft. Students will learn about the changes a caterpillar encounters while going through the process of becoming a butterfly. Developing fine motor skills takes a variety of activities. This craft will engage the student in strengthening those motor skills by using a scissors, paint, and glue.
I am offering this class because I am very excited that spring is here and butterflies will soon be all around my garden flowers! I enjoy working with children exploring the world and being creative together.
Children will need 1. One paper plate 2. One empty toilet paper tube 3. Acrylic or tempera paint 4. Paint brush 5. Scissors 6. Glue 7. One Black pipe cleaner or skinny strips of black paper 8. Printable from classroom 9. One Popsicle stick
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students may need assistance with the craft. Scissors will be used.
