Career Readiness--Overall Intro to Interviewing (With More to Come!)

This first course in our Career Readiness curriculum is about Interviewing Skills. We will present ten other categories such as communication skills, resume writing, time management, etc.... The interviewing skills course is three months.

Mastery Evaluation
1 hour per week. The mastery evaluation will include individualized feedback rather than formal evaluation tools
Certificate of Completion
The certificate of completion will be granted after each section like directly after finishing interviewing.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner Level
We will teach about interviewing topics in this 3-month course which are listed in the syllabus.  Ten topics are covered over ten weeks with an extra two weeks for needed additions. We will teach in a PowerPoint discussion format.   Since these courses will be offered live weekly, I would like feedback from parents so I can make any needed adjustments to suit the group we/I am instructing.

Introductory Lesson to Interviewing
 In this lesson, we will learn about the basics of interview preparation.

Bio for Julie Nichols--
I have 25+ years of experience both as an educator/provider combined and as a parent who has raised two sons with developmental/learning disabilities (Autism and ADHD/LD). I serve a wide age range, from 5 through adulthood.  I provide Educational Specialty services and basic vocational skills remotely with a physical office. I've been in private practice for over ten years with expanding virtual success.  I hold a BS in Education from Baylor University (1993), a Master of Education from Concordia University Texas (2009),
and post-graduate credentialing.   I hold these credentials. I hold additional certifications, licenses, training, and specialties as a ​Licensed Dyslexia Specialist, a Certified Autism Specialist, a Board Certified Telepractice Specialist, a Board Certified a Cognitive Specialist, LGBTQIA+ Inclusion in Healthcare Certificate, and 3 UNTWISE Vocational Credentials 

Bio for Vocational Specialist, Sarah Gamlin

Sarah has provided over 10 years of vocational services for people with disabilities.  In her experience, she has served transition-aged students on work sites and taught them
appropriate social skills.  In her most recent virtual experience, it consisted of helping
customers with self-advocacy, personal adjustment skills, career exploration,
job searching, resume preparation, interview practice, vocational evaluations, and
work incentives. Sarah graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors of
Science in Justice Studies in 2012 and a Master of Education in Rehabilitation
Counseling in 2015.  Sarah holds Texas VR credentialing, has virtual Texas experience, and has specialized credentialing as a Workplace Incentive Practitioner through Cornell University's ILR Employment and Disability Institute.  Sarah will be my new manager of virtual services with her home office based in Northeast Ohio. We communicate and work together regularly!  We also co-teach / co-treat periodically in the vocational section of J & S Educational and Vocational Services.
