Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach real-life career strategy that can be used for any industry. My focus is on preparing students for their first or entry-level roles and internships. I offer insights and coaching to navigate the competitive landscape, provide resources to finding PAID internship opportunities, and assist students with building confidence for effective networking.
I've helped dozens of early career professionals make the transition from student to employee/intern.
When I was growing up, I was sure what I wanted to do professionally. I was sure when I wanted to be a lawyer, fashion designer, and CEO. All the career tests told me exactly what I should be doing as a professional, but they never sit right with me. Eventually, I realized the only way to truly know what I wanted was to do research and try different things that allowed me to use my skills and do things I enjoyed.
When I left high school, I had no idea how far behind I was compared to many of the people I would compete with for early career roles. I also didn’t understand how to communicate my experiences in a way that would get me hired. I knew I had the skills, capabilities, and education for many of the roles, but without a network and experience getting that first role was challenging.
As I built my career and gathered knowledge about the world of work, I became more and more passionate about providing resources, connections, and strategies for the generations to follow. Understanding that your career trajectory is greatly impacted by where you start is key to not working 40 years trying to climb the corporate ladder while carrying the burden of dissatisfaction. I’m here to prevent that from happening to your student.
I am a HR professional with 15 years of experience leading recruitment, talent development, and human resources. The world of work is changing, I think for the better. One thing that will not change is the requirement of a strong network of other professionals and an effective ability to communicate your value to potential employers, customers, or investors.
Being formally trained in Business Administration, Human Resources, and Marketing I aim to teach your child to begin with the end in mind, while not being afraid to pivot. Throughout our class time we will cover the topics of identifying careers, understanding how to effectively conduct a career search, using AI to optimize your resume and LinkedIn profiles, and mastering networking and interview conversations. At the end of each class students will not only leave with knowledge necessary to get a head start to take control of their career, but resources that can be used to market themselves and understand the world of work for years to come.
Students will love my classes because we will practice and implement real life strategies, build a resume, interview skills, and have resources to begin networking effectively. We will use AI to refine and streamline our job search efforts and create accounts on AI supported sites that make the first job-hunt successful!
