Martial Arts on Film class will teach the fundamentals of developing martial arts for presentation and solo training regimens. This class evolves Superhero Fitness to the next level, expanding our cinematic studies outside of superheroes into broader action stars like Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Lateef Crowder, and more. Class covers 8 main areas of movement: 1. Weapons 2. Groundwork 3. Spins 4. Rolls 5. Jumps 6. Kicks 7. Combos 8. Flow Students will learn in this class by several methods: 1) Watch and Learn; 2) Progressive Training; 3) Listening to Instructions; 4) Active Engagement with the Coach. The students will interact with the Coach by speaking with and listening to the Coach, giving thumb ups or answering questions to confirm listening, repeating essential movements, recapping essential guidelines, and by positive feedback. Students will learn how to use their bodies by gaining awareness through full ranges of movements from kicks, to handstands, and more. Students will get a workout in a unique way! Students will mainly interact with each other by watching one another as an example when pointed out by the Coach. The movement elements that will be covered in this class are Handstands, Sword Work, Rolls, Spins, Jumps, Kicks, Cartwheels, and Specialty Tricks inspired by superheroes and video game characters.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the fundamentals of martial arts for film, including the mindset and skills. Martial Arts on film is distinct from sparring in that spacial awareness, choreography, and partner flow are stressed differently.

3. Studying Stunt Performers from Movie Clips
4. Learning Functions of Major Muscle Groups and Ligaments
By approaching training this way, all of the following skills will come much easier.

SMA believes in combining the elements of movement disciplines with the foundation of portraying self-defense on film for the welfare of others. We aim to improve self-belief, body awareness, compassion, cultural awareness, athleticism, spatial awareness, and most importantly joy for our comrades to be at peace with one another.

Parental Guidance
Tricking is an an American fusion of martial arts and performance acrobatics. So, we will go upside down frequently to do handstands, or be spinning to do kicks. It’s important that learners have enough space (8x8 minimum) to practice and train.
Supply List
8x8 minimum open space Chair, Punching bag, Shoes, Stuffed animal, towel, water bottle, Paper, String, Cardboard, and a clear camera angle.
