Week 1Lesson 1Sky ReplacementWe will learn one of the most basic VFX techniques, which is how to replace the sky in a live action shot. We will learn a basic technique as well as an advanced one.
In this tutorial students will learn how to create video overlays, how to find and download assets from the CapCut library, and to create masking effects that will change the sky into a look of their choice.
I currently teach professional video editing , color grading, audio production and visual effects. I have been an educator for nearly two decades and have experience teaching a wide variety of subjects to all age groups. I am currently producing a comedy-VFX series for YouTube. Students should be comfortable using a tablet. They should be comfortable using the CapCut app. If they have never used the app before they can take my self-paced beginner CapCut course before enrolling in this one.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
CapCut is a third-party mobile video editing app that will be used as the foundation for teaching the lesson. It can be downloaded and operated for free without any need to create an account.
