This one-time class is designed for learners who want to learn the basics of using Canva to create eye-catching social media content. Participants will be introduced to Canva's interface and tools and will gain hands-on experience in designing graphics for various social media platforms. Class Outline: 1. Introduction to Canva and Social Media Design Basics - Overview of Canva's features and capabilities - Understanding design principles for social media - Exploring additional Canva features and tools - Tips for creating visually engaging content 2. Exploring Canva Templates and Elements - Utilizing Canva's pre-designed templates for social media - Adding and editing text in Canva - Incorporating shapes, icons, and graphics into designs - Utilizing Canva's photo library and free stock images 3. Designing Social Media Graphics - Creating a social media post for a specific platform (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) - Editing and customizing images in Canva - Applying color schemes to match brand identity 5. Q&A and Wrap-Up - Learners with present their social media posts to the class -Open Q&A session to address participants' questions - Recap of key takeaways from the class - Providing resources and references for further learning Materials Needed: - Personal computer or laptop - Must be able to share screen - Internet access - A free Canva account (participants should sign up before the class) If there is extra time learners will be able to create other Canva designs.

Parental Guidance
We will be using a design software called Canva. It is a website that students will need to have a free account. Canva is a resource for creating designs using various elements, images, and videos to use to create designs will. You can search for words like fighting, explosion, kissing, etc., and images that nature will appear.
We will also be talking about social media and will be looking at examples of creating social media posts and captions.
