In this course, students will receive an overview of early U.S. history that focuses on the country's evolution from a group of colonies to a collective body. We will begin our "choose your own adventure" in the early stages of resistance to the British and end with the adoption of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. I have multiple degrees in history and have been teaching for five years. The training I have is relevant and applicable to this course content.
This course is intentionally designed to support all learning needs. Any student that requires accommodations can have participation expectations altered/omitted for them. This is a stress-free classroom with NO test or homework.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No violent or graphic images, videos, or language will be used as teaching materials in this course.
In this course, students will review multiple primary sources and have them explained. This include: - The October 26, 1775 proclamation from King George III - The U.S. Declaration of Independence - Some of the Townshend Acts Much of the information that the lecture and slides come from is Stanford University's "The American Yawp."
