Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Explore cat training techniques each week in this exciting cat training club!  We will have lively discussions about animal behavior in order to understand how we can teach our pet cats.  Learners are encouraged to bring their cats, kittens, or stuffed animals for show & tell.  My cat, Professor Patrick, will make guest appearances and model different weekly training techniques.  At the end of these interactive activities, learners will color a cat drawing.  Students will complete each class by sharing their artworks.

The cat training topics will be different each week.  These are the cat behaviors and training techniques that we will learn about:

Cat Training Schedule: 

July 31-August 6 - Jumping & Climbing: Can I train my cat not to jump on the table?
August 7-13 - Scratching: How do I convince my cat not to scratch the furniture?
August 14-20 - Body Language: When my cat wags his tail, is he happy like a dog?
August 21-27 - Treats: How do I use cat treats as rewards for cat training?
August 28-September 3 - Travel: How do I train my cat to be comfortable on a road trip?
September 4-10 - Grooming: How does grooming encourage positive behavior?
September 11-17 - Escaping: How can I train my indoor cat not to run out of the house?
September 18-24 - Litter Boxes: Can I train our cat to use the human toilet?
September 25-October 1 - Biting: How do I prevent my cat from biting and scratching?
October 2-8 - Multiple Pets: Can I train my cat to like my pet dog or bird?
October 9-15 - Outdoor Safety: How do I train my cat to stay safe outside? 
October 16-22 - Prey: How can I prevent my cat from bringing home lizards and mice?
October 23-29 - Playing: What activities can complement my cat’s training practice? 
October 30-November 5 - Kittens: Do I train kittens and adult cats differently?
November 6-12 - Communication: Can meows, purrs & hisses help me understand my cat?
November 13-19 - Handling: How do I train my cat by using safe handling techniques?
