We will be learning the basics of the Unity software and see how a game is created, using some simple scripts we'll write and some that will be provided before class. For this course, we will be using the Unity game engine if learners want to follow along in this class and build their own game. Unity offers a free personal account (and that's all that is necessary) but it does require a parent to sign up for the account. To install Unity, you should start with installing the Unity Hub from https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download and click "Download Unity Hub" Once you install and run that, you can create a free personal account and install the latest "LTS" release. Unity runs on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux -- but not an iPad or Chromebook. The official system requirements are as follows: OS: Windows 7 SP1+, 8, 10, 64-bit versions only; Mac OS X 10.12+; Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04, and CentOS 7. GPU: Graphics card with DX10 (shader model 4.0) capabilities.
