In this summer book club, we will read and discuss books written by popular author, Jason Reynolds.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Reading should be completed prior to each class. The class meets once a week to allow learners time to read the book prior to class. “I say anything I want to say. Students will growth their love of reading, inspired to read not only as readers but as budding writers as well. Students will discuss literary elements such as theme, character motivation, point of view, and storyline. Students will also consider concepts such as author's purpose, craft, and word choice.
I have been teaching for 31 years, from kindergarten through college students. For the last 18 years, I've been teaching middle school ELA and Social Studies and have been tutoring during this time as well. My teaching certifications include English, Social Studies, and Spanish, and I have an M.A. in Educational Psychology. I have a passion for reading and writing and teach a variety of classes on OutSchool. I am also available for private tutoring as well.
Homework Offered
Students will be required to read each novel before attending the session.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

We will be reading the following Jason Reynolds books. These may be purchased or checked out from a local library.
