Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
In this ongoing course, students will have fun learning new material while also reviewing previously learned information in a Jeopardy-style format. Each class will cover a different topic so students are invited to take the course more than once. Students should be comfortable using video and speaking in class in order to fully participate in this course. If time permits, we can review any new material that is presented in the game at the students’ request.

The purpose of this course is for students to primarily review material but they may learn some new concepts along the way. Reviewing and checking knowledge and comprehension should be fun and interactive. Difficult or confusing concepts will be reviewed after the game if time allows.

The topic for the week will be posted in the classroom. I also take suggestions from the students and do my best to integrate them. Winners will be given the opportunity to select the topic for the next class.

If you sign up and do not see the topic or just have questions, please feel free to contact me.

Please note this is an ongoing class. If you are unable to attend a class, you can feel free to unenroll and re-enroll when it works out for your schedule.

Hello!

UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.

I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.

I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.

I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.

Please reach out to me if you don't see a time that works for your child. I will try to be accommodating if it is possible.

When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.

"If you are scientifically literate the world looks very different to you. And that understanding empowers you." -Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson
